Overview§ 01
The 964-generation Carrera RS revived the lightweight-RS formula for a new era: thinner glass, reduced sound-deadening, a stripped interior, and a firmer suspension setup dropped weight well below the standard Carrera 2, while the 3.6-litre flat-six was reworked for a sharper throttle response.
Built in three specifications — Sport, Touring, and the track-only N/GT — the 964 RS restored the driver-focused, homologation-special character that had defined the original 2.7 RS two decades earlier.
